Hey everyone! I know I've done a couple Small Business Blog features in the past, but this year I plan to do 1 each month, so stay tuned throughout the year to hear about 12 of my favorite local businesses! 

I love to shop locally & support other small businesses when I can and if I love the business, I figure you might too! It's always nice when someone you know/trust refers you to another business because then you know they are good before you try them for yourself.

First up for the month of January is Shivelight Massage & Skincare by Sarah Blindert!

I actually graduated high school with Sarah & have been going to her for massage for a few years while she worked at another spa. Recently, she opened up her own business and I'm so happy for her & wish her the best of luck on this new venture! I recently visited Sarah at her new space for a 60 min hot stone massage. I have trouble with my shoulders because I sit at a desk all day so she even tried some cupping on my shoulders to help with the tension/pain in that area. Sarah is such a kind and knowledgeable person. I'm looking forward to seeing her every month for relaxation & help with my shoulder pain.

"I decided to start my own business when I was offered a teaching position at Capri College to allow more flexibility for both my clients and me. I had been practicing for about 7 years in the industry and decided it was a good time to venture out on my own. 

My favorite part of owning Shivelight is coming up with my own services and monthly specials. I love finding new products and services my clients fall in love with. 

I can't think of anything new that I'll be offering soon, but I have monthly specials that give clients a chance to try things with a discount. I'm excited for February's chocolate back treatment! 

My favorite part of doing what I do is being able to help people feel better either through pain relief techniques or relaxation. There is nothing better than creating a space where people can come unwind and leave feeling like a new person."
