I LOVE animals and photographing newborns so in June when my Mom adopted the tiniest, cutest little kitten I had ever seen, I had the brilliant idea of bringing her into the studio for a "newborn" session! I was so excited for the idea of photographing this Adorable little kitten like a newborn baby! I finally found some time in July and brought my youngest sister Makenna (14) along to be my assistant because I had no idea what to expect (and because she loves hanging out with her awesome older sister!). The kitten would have been almost 3 months old at the time.

It was in the morning and the kitten normally slept all day so I was hoping she would be nice and sleepy, I even brought some wet cat food along to fill up her belly. Of course she wasn't going to make it easy on me, she wanted nothing to do with sleeping and only wanted to play! She was having so much fun exploring this new place and chasing after all the toys we were throwing for her (trying to wear her out). In between all of the exploring and playing I managed to get a few photos of her while she was awake, but not without getting a few scratches from her sharp kitten claws! After a couple hours I decided that we weren't going to get her to sleep so we went inside for lunch and guess what she did!? She fell asleep! Back out to the studio we went.. and some more playing.. until FINALLY she was so tired she let me get as many sleepy images as I wanted!!

I was so excited she finally fell asleep and I had so much fun photographing her. I did a few different set ups and even used some wraps and headbands on her. Since then she has been named Snickers, in case you were wondering. :)
